The 16^th American Peptide Symposium has made special arrangements with two hotels. You are responsible for making your own sleeping room reservations directly with the hotels; to receive the special Symposium rates, you must state that you will be attending the 16^th American Peptide Symposium. A first night's deposit is required to reserve a room. The rates listed do not include taxes, which currently are 12%. As long as rooms are available, reservations made by the Thursday, May 13, 1999, deadline guarantee the Symposium rates; any later reservations will be charged at the prevailing rates.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: May 15, 1999. We strongly urge those who have not yet made their plans to request sleeping rooms at the Hilton Hotel, which is the official Symposium headquarters and conveniently located near to the Symposium site at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

This 820 room modern hotel is located three blocks from the Minneapolis Convention Center, and is connected by skyway as well as by city streets (see maps). Rooms are furnished with a king size bed or two double beds (specify when making reservations).

Symposium rates (not including taxes), per room, per night: single occupancy: $137; double occupancy: $157; each additional person in room: $20; one-bedroom suites: $575.

Effective May 15, 1999, the block of rooms for Symposium participants at the DoubleTree is completely filled.

This recently remodeled hotel has 230 suites and is located four blocks from the Minneapolis Convention Center (see maps). Each suite includes a bedroom (specify a standard king bed or two standard double beds), kitchen area with refrigerator and microwave oven, and living room area with a sofa that converts to a queen size sleeper.

Symposium rates (not including taxes), per suite, per night: single or double occupancy: $123; triple or quadruple occupancy: $133; five or six occupants: $143.

University of Minnesota Residence Halls

Effective May 15, 1999, we are no longer able to accommodate requests for dormitory housing.
A limited number of dormitory rooms are available at the University of Minnesota. Buses (at no extra charge) will run between the dormitory and the Convention Center, a distance of about 1.5 miles, on a schedule that is compatible with the Symposium program. These rooms are air conditioned and include linens, but there are no hotel-type services and bathrooms are shared. Meals are not included. There are a variety of restaurants available in the area of the dormitory. Most rooms are designed for double occupancy. Single occupancy rooms are available at a higher rate. A total Symposium rate for six nights has been set for the dormitory. Daily and partial week rates are not available. Beginning check-in time is 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 1999, and move-out must be completed by 12:00 noon Friday, July 2, 1999. (In a limited number of cases, your stay can be extended in either direction, by arrangement via the Symposium organizers.) Rates (tax included) are $168 for each person in a double room. The rate for a single occupancy room is $190. The maximum number of people per double room is two. There are no facilities in the dormitory for families.

A Dormitory Housing Reservation Form can be obtained as described below, and there is the additional online option also described. Reservations, including payment, must be received by Thursday, May 13, 1999. Reservations will be accepted on a first received, first assigned basis. Refunds for dormitory housing will not be made after this date. Requests for substitutions and changes after May 13 will be accepted on an availability basis. The double room rate is available only to persons submitting the reservation form together. The Symposium committee will not assign roommates.
