To encourage the peptide scientists of the 21st century, a Junior Symposium will be held in concert with the first formal poster session. The Junior Symposium is intended for young scientists of ages 10-18 (middle and high school), who may either be family members accompanying regular Symposium participants, or prize-winning students invited from local area schools. Presented work should be in the standard poster format, and cover some aspect of peptide-related science as defined in the broadest possible terms. All Junior Symposium participants will have an opportunity to visit with an American Peptide Society "V.I.P." and receive a Certificate of Recognition. If a member of your family wishes to contribute to this new event, she or he should fill out a registration form and write a one-page letter stating name, address and other contact information (matching registration form to the extent appropriate), age, and a brief description of the science to be presented, and mail them together to the Junior Peptide Symposium Committee, c/o 16th American Peptide Symposium, University of Minnesota, P.O. Box 64780, St. Paul, MN 55164-0780, U.S.A. Letters and accompanying registration forms should be received by April 20, 1999, and will be answered with further information and instructions.

Family members, ages 10-18, who are contributing a poster presentation to the Junior Symposium, will receive complimentary registration (no fee charged). Registration includes admission to scientific sessions, posters, and exhibits, as well as all conference material. A Proceedings volume and participation in social events are not included.
