The Junior Symposium was an opportunity for family members accompanying regular Symposium participants, and for prize-winning students invited from local area schools, to present their work. Twelve young scientists age 10-18 had the time of their life, as illustrated in the photo gallery that follows. That's Justin Palmen in the middle explaining what's going on to his high school science teacher Stephen Brehmer; Justin won the top senior prize at the Minnesota State Science Fair sponsored by the Minnesota Academy of Science, as judged by a team from the University of Minnesota headed by Karin Musier-Forsyth.
