At the 16th American Peptide Symposium Speakers' Banquet, held June 28, 1999, at the Weisman Art Museum on the campus of the University of Minnesota, (left to right) Guy S. Salvesen, Ian R. Cottingham, and Hideaki Nagase compare notes. We have it from a usually reliable source that Guy had to go to Mall of America and buy trousers specifically for this occasion, since all he brought to Minnesota were a pair of blue jeans. The same source opined that if we ever have to invite Guy to another formal event, a clothing allowance should be included along with his honorarium and expenses.
