Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from the Symposium. Assistance is available, as described below.

Official Agency

New Departures of Minneapolis, Minnesota, is the official travel agency for the 16th American Peptide Symposium. New Departures has secured special airline fares, specifically for Symposium participants, for both domestic and international travel, on the most direct routes to the Twin Cities. (see maps for approximate flying times within the U.S.)

Ground Transportation

Transportation from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to downtown Minneapolis by Airport Express Bus is currently $11 one-way and $18 round-trip. Taxi fare is about $25, one-way, not including tip and luggage charges.

Shuttle buses (at no charge) will be provided between the dormitory and the Convention Center on a schedule compatible with the Symposium program and events.

The Symposium hotels are within walking distance of the Convention Center. A climate-controlled glass-enclosed pedestrian skyway system links 52 Minneapolis city blocks. The Hilton Hotel and the Convention Center are connected, as are services, shops, restaurants, theaters, and nightlife.

Arrival by Automobile

The Symposium sites (Convention Center, hotels, and dormitory) are easily accessible to those driving. Interstate routes 94 and 35W run right through downtown Minneapolis. (see maps for details)

Automobile parking is available (current rates) at:

Minneapolis Hilton Hotel and Towers ramp - $10.50 per day
DoubleTree Guest Suites ramp - $9.75 per day
University of Minnesota ramps - $13 per day ($3.50 per day if entered before 7:45 a.m. or after 2:00 p.m.)

Train and Bus

The Twin Cities are served by Amtrak and interstate buses (GreyHound).
