Volunteer Opportunities

Become Involved

There are many ways for Department of Chemistry alumni to stay involved and help with programs that benefit students, ranging from becoming a mentor to supporting outreach efforts.

Mentor Program

Department of Chemistry alumni are encouraged to become involved in the College of Science & Engineering's (CSE) Mentor program. This program matches students with professionals working in science fields. Mentors work one-on-one with students who are exploring career paths and preparing for the transition from academics to industries. Mentors share their experiences and wisdom with future professionals and support their profession. They also connect with the emerging talent pool, are exposed to new ideas and ways of thinking, and enhance their own coaching, leadership, and recruiting skills. The commitment is two hours a month from October to April. Registration for the program starts in this fall.

Other Volunteer Activities

Your gift of time whether a few hours or a longer commitment, makes a difference.
