Sonnet XV

The light of dawn has newly touched the sky

And by my side your breath is soft in dream;

But I am not alone with morning's gleam

For 'ladriel lies here with open eyes.

I rub her throat to earn her morning purr--

A ritual we always share before

The day begins. With such in mind once more

I'll kiss your hair and stroke her silken fur.

Aubades are made for singing to the light

Now streaked across the blue expanse above

Galadriel's a creature of the night

And you, my dear, must play the part of love.

                  What man could ever hope to be more rich

                  Than he whose coins are alloyed such as this?
