November 29, 2011   The group welcomes four new graduate students: Ziyu Zhang from Wuhan University (China), Sarah Wegwerth and Jason Brethorst from St. Cloud State University, and Sarah Pound from Bethel University.

October 7, 2011 Chris Douglas presents the group's research at Carlton College.

September 7, 2011 The group welcomes four researchers this fall. Patrick Rothstein returns to the group after conducting summer research in South Korea. Dylan Walsh returns after a summer away from campus as well. Joy Zhou begins after her summer REU at North Texas. Matt Luedtke joins the group as a visiting scholar after earning his MS degree at UMN-Duluth.

Congratulations to Dr. Michael Wentzel for his successful defense of his thesis. Michael will be teaching at Augsburg College and working as a postdoctoral fellow with Professor Tom Hoye.

August 27-28, 2011 At the National ACS Meeting in Denver: Chris Douglas and Wayne Gu present the group's research.

April 15, 2011 Undergraduates from the College of Science and Engineering have selected Chris Douglas to receive a 2010-11 Outstanding Professor Award and Vicki Chemistruck for a 2010-11 Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award. Read the news release.

April 5, 2011 Vicki Chemistruck has been selected for a 2011 NSF GRFP Fellowship.

March 21, 2011 Naveen Rondla, Sam Levi, Jon Ryss, and Rachel Vanden Berg are co-authors on their manuscript, "Palladium-Catalyzed C-CN Activation for Intramolecular Cyanoesterification of Alkynes," published as an ASAP article at Organic Letters. Read it.
