Welcome to the archived website for Andy Taton's Chemistry/Materials Science 5223W, "Polymer Laboratory"! This course was last taught by Andy in Spring 2006. Students are more than welcome to use the material on this website for their own learning. I also encourage professors at any institution to point their students to this material.
This course has a long, great history at the University of Minnesota, and I would like to thank all of the faculty who taught this course before me--including Profs. Marc Hillmyer, Tim Lodge, Frank Bates, Chris Macosko, and Matt Tirrell. (Apologies to anyone I've left out of that list.) Out of the seven Labs covered in my version of this course, I developed only one in its entirety, and contributed to maybe three others. The rest of the development of this course was done by these other Professors of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science.
