Research video receives Communicators Forum Maroon Award

The Department of Chemistry has received a Maroon Award from the University of Minnesota's Communicators Forum for its research video, Solving Society's Most Important Problems.

Creation of the video was coordinated by Communications Coordinator Eileen Harvala working with Chuck Olsen from Vidtiger and cinematographers Cliff Dahlberg and Jon Springer. The video highlights some of the Department of Chemistry's scientists and innovative research aimed at solving some of society's most important energy, human health, and environmental problems. Additional videos are planned featuring the department's researchers.

Award-winning projects must successfully demonstrate timely, targeted, credible, and effective messages combined with compelling concept, format, design and materials. Maroon awards are given to subcategory entries deemed by the judges to be of merit. The Department of Chemistry received its award in the Interactive, Video (Long) category. This was one of 34 awards given to communications projects from all university campuses.

The Communicators Forum promotes excellence in communications and enhances cooperation among communications professionals at the university.
