Stein works on unique business-sponsored research collaborative

Recent research from the research group of Professor

Professor Andreas Stein has participated in the university's first Minnesota Innovative Partnership, working on the development of better composite materials used for high-performance plastics.

This research and unique collaborative was recently featured in a blog written by the university's Office of Business Relations. This breakthrough research, conducted by Professor Stein and Professor Chris Macosko from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, could have an impact on the high performance plastics industry.

This collaborative is the first Minnesota Innovative Partnership (MN-IP) to have a licensed deal finalized. Stein and Macosko's two-year research project was funded by Adama Materials, a start-up company launched to commercialize the technology. The new technology has a patent pending through the University of Minnesota, and recently was licensed by Adama Materials through the University of Minnesota's Office for Technology Commercialization.
