Graduate Student Maral Mousavi receives SEAC Travel Award

Recent research from the research group of Professor

Maral Mousavi, fourth-year graduate student in Professor Philippe Buhlmann’s group, received a travel award from the Society for Electroanalytical Chemistry (SEAC) to present her work at the Pittsburgh Conference of Analytical Chemistry 2014. This year, only five graduate students from across the country have been selected to receive SEAC Graduate Student Travel Grants.

Mousavi will deliver a poster presentation, Development of Novel Cations to Extend the Electrochemical Window of Ionic Liquids: Improving the Energy Density of Nanostructured Supercapacitors for Electrical Energy Storage, and an oral presentation, Reference Electrodes with Salt Bridges Contained in Nanoporous Glass: An Under Appreciated Source of Error. The latter will include an update on results that have been first published as an editor’s highlight in Analytical Chemistry.
