Research Stockroom Catalog

The Chemistry Research Stockroom is located in the sub basement of Smith Hall, RM  S-17.

The Research Stockroom serves the Faculty, Students and Staff, of the University of Minnesota, who have a valid Research Account and a Stockroom Card.

You Must have a Valid Chemistry Research Stockroom Card or an Authorized Stockroom Card Application, IN HAND, in order to make purchases from the Research Stockroom. The Stockroom, does not accept Cash, Checks, Credit Cards or Research Account Numbers. If you do not have a Research Stockroom Card, you will need to apply for one:
Primary Safety Practices, include, but are not limited to the Following:
1.)

Gas Cylinders must have the CAP ON when being transported, regardless of the type of gas, even if empty.

2.)

You must provide Secondary Containmentfor the transportation of ALL LIQUIDS in Glass or Plastic Bottles, of any Size.  ALL DRY Chemicals in Glass Bottles, of any Size, must also be transported in Secondary Containment.

3.)
Laboratory Safety Gloves are not to be worn outside of the Laboratory or in the Research Stockroom, even if new and uncontaminated.

Stockroom Hours M-F:  7:45 AM-11:30 AM & 12:15 PM-4:25 PM;
Closed for lunch from 11:30 AM-12:15 PM.

Chemistry Accounting Hours M-F:  8:00 AM-12:00 AM & 1:00 PM -4:30 PM.
