Your 63-Across

by Martin Ashwood-Smith

This "late-week level" puzzle features a double-quad stack, and was originally published as the "Sunday Challenge" on the November 16, 2014 Washington Post crossword website. Martin Ashwood-Smith notes that the history of the puzzle is unusual in that it was cobbled together during Summer 2014 from bits and pieces of other puzzles he had "lying" around. Both top and bottom stacks were from different (incomplete or rejected) puzzles, while the middle was brand new. A sort of "chop-shop" puzzle if you will, but hopefully none of the seams show!

As a member of the CrosSynergy Syndicate, Martin Ashwood-Smith would like to thank all of the current members of that group who took time in helping edit this puzzle, with a special thanks to Bob Klahn, whose eagle-eyed proofreading always ensures that very few errors ever make it out the "door"!
