It's All About Justices

by George Barany and Friends

Like many, we were mesmerized by the late-March 2013 dialogue in the highest Court in the land, and were inspired to write a crossword puzzle about what transpired. This "mid-week level" puzzle is slightly wider than usual, i.e., 15x16, and is, in our humble opinion, a fitting successor to Progress Since Stonewall and The Union Forever. Plus, be sure to check its sequel, Justice Served on a First-Name Basis. After completing the puzzle (spoiler), you are urged to invest a few minutes to watch the clip accessed by clicking here, featuring the incomparable Jon Stewart. You may also want to visit this page from the New York Times, which sources several of the theme answers.

Click here (optimal version) or here (beta version) to view or download the puzzle in PDF format; here to download it as a puz file; here to download it as an ipuz file [requires the free Puzzazz app to solve]; here (optimal) or here to solve the puzzle interactively (thanks to Jim Horne); and here (optimal) or here (beta) for solutions. Michael Hanko and Martin Herbach are thanked for their usual impeccable contributions, and Noam Elkies offered insightful suggestions which were gratefully addressed in the revison.
