Soup Or Symmetry?

by Laszlo Denes / Edited by George Barany

This "late-week level" themeless puzzle features a super-symmetric grid. It was originally constructed in 2013, and we are pleased to add it to our roster of puzzles in Winter 2016. The puzzle's title, a play on the grid design, is evocative of this chestnut. After completing the puzzle (spoiler), learn more about the puzzle by clicking here for Laszlo's "midrash."

We thank Christopher Adams, John Child, Charles Flaster, Martin Herbach, and Lewis Rothlein for test solving the puzzle and helpful suggestions.
