This "mid-week level" puzzle was released the day before Election Day of the 2012 Presidential campaign, although it refers to a blip in the news cycle going back to the end of May 2012. After completing the puzzle (spoiler), you may enjoy watching this clip from the incomparable Stephen Colbert.
