Craftily Rerun Zodiac

WARNING: Some potentially offensive content.

This "mid-week level" political-themed puzzle (17x17) was created in rapid response to consecutive breaking news developments at a tumultuous time in the campaign for the 2016 GOP Presidential nomination (pictorial hint to the right). After completing the puzzle (spoiler), learn more about the puzzle's theme by clicking here, here [amazing segment from The Daily Show with Trevor Noah], here, and here. Also, the puzzle's title was inspired by this segment from Nate Silver's twitter feed, as amplified by various internet memes found here and here. However, the last words (so far) have to go to the hilarious Andy Borowitz and the incomparable Gail Collins, as found here and here, respectively.

Click here to view or download the puzzle in PDF format; here to download it as a puz file; here to download it as an ipuz file [requires the free Puzzazz app to solve]; here to solve the puzzle interactively (thanks to Jim Horne); here for the solution. We thank Charles Flaster, Martin Herbach, Theresa Horan, Lewis Rothlein, Alex Vratsanos, and Ned White for their quick review and valuable suggestions that informed and improved this puzzle.
