Research from the lab of Prof. Peter Carr was recently featured
in the April 28, 2008 cover story of Chemical and Engineering News about
exciting new approaches to liquid chromatography. The article highlights the
efforts of the Carr research group to make stable chromatographic column media,
such as zirconia, to replace the standard silica packing materials. In addition,
two-dimensional liquid chromatographic separations of biomolecules in the Carr
group are discussed as a novel approach that achieves chemical separation of
complex mixtures in a fraction of the time of conventional LC.
