This "mid-week level" sports-themed tribute puzzle (17x17) represented its constructor's debut to our pages, and was released within two weeks of some rather special events (see pictorial hints to the right). After completing the puzzle (spoiler), you may enjoy reading two columns by Jeff Jacobs of the Hartford Courant, one that contains a playful "guarantee"... and a second in the happy aftermath. Also, the first two minutes of this Jimmy Fallon monologue feature a relevant shout-out and some additional fun stuff.
