This "mid-week level" sports-themed tribute puzzle, celebrating one of the great careers in the history of major league baseball, was released to coincide with the publication of another puzzle with an unrelated theme—by the same constructor—in the New York Times, coincidentally on the same day as its subject's very last home game.
