Research assistant receives travel grant to major conference

Melissa Maurer-Jones, a research assistant in Associate Professor Christy Haynes' group, received a Society for Electroanalytical Chemistry Student Travel Award to present her work at the Pittcon Conference & Expo 2011, March 13-18, in Atlanta. The travel award is given to promising graduate students delivering oral presentations at Pittcon. Maurer-Jones' presentation is entitled, "Fundamental Study of Cellular Response after Exposure to TiO2 Nanoparticles."

Pittcon is the world's largest annual conference and exposition on laboratory science. It is organized by The Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy.
