Pomerantz selected to participate in new faculty workshop

Professor William Pomerantz, who is joining the University of Minnesota Department of Chemistry faculty as an assistant professor this summer, has been selected to participate in the Cottrell Scholars Collaborative New Faculty Workshop, Aug. 9-10, in Washington, D.C.

This program is designed to aid newly-hired faculty in the chemical and physical sciences at research intensive universities such as the University of Minnesota. The workshop will focus on effective time management, mentoring students, managing a laboratory, use of active pedagogies and student engagement, facilitation of large-format classes, new teaching practices, and integrating teaching and research.
