Ian Gunsolus receives Torske Klubben Fellowship

Ian Gunsolus, a second-year graduate student working with Professor Christy Haynes, has received a Torske Klubben Fellowship.

Ian's research focuses on understanding the interactions of engineered nanomaterials with environmental systems. Specifically, he studies the toxicological effects of engineered nanomaterials on beneficial bacteria as well as the transformations of these materials in natural environments.

Torske Klubben was founded in 1933, and is a Minneapolis luncheon club of men of Norwegian heritage who are interested in Norway and Norwegian-American history and relationships. The fellowship supports graduate students who have an interest in or connection with Norway and its culture.

The fellowship includes a stipend of $15,000.
