Safety Refresher Taining Course, Thursday, September 19

The annual departmental safety refresher training requirement will be fulfilled by a series of seminars and workshops held throughout the year. The first seminar will be conducted from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 230 Science Teaching & Student Services (STSS). Boynton Health Service is providing practical first aid/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training, focusing on knowing when to call 911 for a health emergency, what information the 911 operator may ask for, and other practical steps that can be taken during an emergency. Please note that this training will not grant CPR certification.

No registration is required. Attendees just sign in at the door to receive credit. Individuals are expected to attend at least one of the seminars/workshops or complete an online module provided by the Department of Environmental Health & Safety.

Standard Operating Procedure assistance
This fall, Anna Sitek, research safety specialist from the Department of Environmental Health & Safety, will be in Smith Hall 139C from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for drop-in standard operating procedure (SOP) help.
