Gunsolus again receives Torske Klubben Fellowship

Ian Gunsolus, a third-year graduate student working with Professor Christy Haynes, has received a Torske Klubben Fellowship. This is the second consecutive year that he has received this fellowship.

Ian's research encompasses identifying rules that can predict risk and inform the design of more environmentally benign nanomaterials. He focuses especially on identifying sites of interaction between nanomaterials and bacterial cell membranes as well as characterizing transformations of nanomaterials in simulated natural aquatic environments.

Torske Klubben was founded in 1933, and is a Minneapolis luncheon club of men of Norwegian heritage who are interested in Norway and Norwegian-American history and relationships. The fellowship supports graduate students who have an interest in or connection with Norway and its culture. The fellowship includes a stipend of $15,000.
