Chemistry WISE honored for fostering growth of women in sciences

Chemistry WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) will be honored at the 2014 Celebrating University Women Awards and Recognition Program, which is schedule for 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, in the Johnson Great Room at the McNamara Alumni Center. RSVP online.

Chemistry WISE is an Institutional Change Grant recipient for its fostering growth of women in sciences initiative. The Chemistry WISE team provides a networking resource for women graduate students and post-docs in the department, with the goal of increasing the recruitment and retention of women, and improving the climate for all chemists. Two of its annual events include the Celebrating Women Chemists lunch series, and its Cool Chemistry outreach to middle school-aged girls.
