Gee selected as one of the three top symposium speakers

Clifford Gee, a fourth-year graduate student working with Professor Will Pomerantz, was selected as one of the three top speakers at the Vanderbilt Institute of Chemical Biology Student Research Symposium.

He was one of two outside speakers invited to the symposium, and his oral presentation focused on "Protein Observed 19F NMR Spectroscopy: An Effective Molecular Discovery Approach for Protein Targets."

Gee is a National Institute of Health Chemical Biology Interface Training Grant trainee, and is co-mentored by Professor Gunda Georg, head of the Medicinal Chemistry Department. He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Azusa Pacific University, and has been working in the Pomerantz laboratory since the summer of 2012.

As a laboratory safety officer and a member of the Joint Safety Team administrative team, Gee also highlighted the work of the JST.
