JST safety awards honor volunteer and laboratory safety

The Joint Safety Team (JST) presented this year’s safety awards to:

• JST Safety Award: Post-Doctoral Associate Jennifer Laaser, given for going above and beyond to help improve JST's mission in making academic laboratories safer. She also received $100 dollars for her efforts to improve the JST.
• Safest Laboratory Award Spring 2015: Professor Valerie Pierre Research Laboratory, given for the best results in the student-led lab walk through. The award was accepted by Graduate Student Sarah Harris. Pierre’s laboratory received $75.
