New research from the Reineke and Tolman groups reports the synthesis of linear carbohydrate derived polyesters and their effect on mechanical properties. This article, “Structure/property relationships in copolymers comprising renewable isosorbide, glucarodilactone, and 2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)furan subunits,” was named the paper of the month by the journal Polymer Chemistry and is featured on their blog.
