A Cryptic Tribulationby an unknown setter; annotated by Ralph Bunker and Chris PhilpotA recent article in the Daily Telegraph described a puzzle published on January 13, 1942 that was supposedly used to recruit code breakers at Bletchley Park during World War II. Parts of this puzzle were used at the official website for The Imitation Game to promote the movie, and the full puzzle was used in a contest advertisement that appeared on page 25 of The New York Times on the eve of the movie's USA release.
